It’s Jordan’s birthday! We left out the card for her, and stuck some balloons up on her bunk bed for her to find on the morning! After breakfast we all crammed into the two minivans and headed off to the church Awake. This is going to be our last Sunday there, because they take a month’s sabbatical over the month of July as a church. Jonathan and Melissa were leading worship today, with the usual team from the farm. The farm family went wild in worship, as we usually do :o) The pastor of the church (Matt Peterson, who visited us last week) said that they love having us there, because we bring so much life and enthusiasm, and our worship draws others into worship. Worship ended up going on for quite a bit! Jonny ended up only having five minutes to speak! He spoke about how worship is the great returning to who we are – dust kissed by God. It is the place where we begin to remember the deep call and imprint of Eternity on our hearts. We find out who we are by finding out who God is. We went into a time of communion together, and then they called all us 18Inch journey people up (with the staff too), and we spread out and prayed for (and sang over and blessed) everybody there.
We came back home for lunch, and then we had a free afternoon, so I took the opportunity to do some violining, which I haven’t had chance for in a while! 2 hours flew by before I’d realised! I also got to do some jamming with other students, which was also great. After supper, the group of us jamming together grew! I got so excited and involved that I nearly forgot that my small group had to report to the kitchen for an intro to our week of kitchen duty – we are going to be helping prep food, put stuff up, and cleaning up after every meal this week. I’m looking forward to it – I like being in kitchens :o) A little later we also all got to have some pudding and cake in celebration of Jordan’s birthday, yay! Ended the evening watching The Patriot with a few others. The bizarre thing was that I as the only one in the room who had seen it before... the South African! Ha ha!
